Assembly Plant Setup
Once a production line has been set up, manufacturers need to inspect selected samples to monitor wear or setup deviations, or have to verify every individual assembly to inspect critical joints and welds. Nikon Metrology offers an extensive set of solutions that meet tight accuracy, speed and operational requirements in harsh environmental conditions. Solutions include fast horizontal-arm CMMs, RCA (Robot CMM Arm) for automated scanning, Adaptive Robot Control for ultra-precise robot operations and K-Series Optical CMM.
The K-Series Optical CMM, for example, proves effective in measuring the positioning of reference pins that fixate components throughout the assembly process. Regular inspection of these pins can be done on a CMM, but it is a lot easier to bring a K-Series Optical CMM next to the assembly line. This metrology system can be equipped with a tactile SpaceProbe and a handheld MMDx laser scanner.
Optical CMM are suited for effortless walkaround scanning, probe measurements of large objects, robotized metrology and dynamic measurements.
